FAQ’s

We want you to photograph our wedding!!! When should we book?
As soon as possible. We cannot hold dates so you should book us as soon as you know your date. We recommend 6-9 months before your event.

Do you travel?
YES! We have been all over our state, country and the world to photograph weddings. The first thing we do after your wedding is backup your images on to our hard drive, and to an online vault. The safety of your images is our number one priority…whether we are traveling 5 miles or 5,000.

What’s your photography style?
We have a documentary artistic style. We are comfortable with natural light and off-camera flash or studio light. We prefer casually posed images, giving direction when it’s needed because we want to capture your unique personalities. We believe that every detail of your day should be photographed, from your shoes to your cake. Your guest images are never posed, we take pictures of them dancing, laughing, and basically just having a great time.

Do you still take posed family images?
Of course! These are important images, and the recording of the joining of your families is a joyful moment. You will receive a questionnaire with a list of groupings that are common, there is a space for you to write in more if needed. We recommend no more than 12, but it is your day and we want you to be happy.

How long does it take to get our images?
You will have a preview of your images within a few weeks. Online galleries and digital files are delivered within 6-8 weeks. After final approval albums are delivered within 12 weeks.

What kind of files do we get?
We provide edited, high-resolution digital files by download or USB depending on the package you choose. You will receive a print release that allows you to make personal reproductions and copies. We never deliver unedited images, and we select the final images based on our standards of quality.

How does the album design process work?
We will make a first draft design within 6-8 weeks of your final image delivery. You will get to preview your album and make two complimentary rounds of changes to it. Once you approve the layout we will help you choose your album cover style, color, imprinting, and other details. Then you’ll sign off on the book and it will go to print. The whole process can be completed online simply and easily. Each round of changes can take up to two business weeks to complete. Orders placed between Oct 1 – Dec 31 may take longer to print due to holiday schedules.

What is the online gallery?
The online gallery is a private, password-protected section on our website where all of your photographs will be placed online for you to view. You can share the link with family and friends. It is also a secure shopping cart – which allows you (and your family and friends) to order prints online.

Do you do engagement sessions?
Of course! We love to do engagement sessions. We think they are a very important way for us to get to know how you interact with each other.  5 Reasons You Shouldn’t Skip the Engagement Session

Can you hold a date?
We cannot guarantee a date without a signed contract and retainer. To keep it fair we accept bookings on a first-come-first-served basis.

How does your payment schedule work?
A retainer of $1000 is due to reserve your date, and the remainder is due 4 weeks prior to the wedding. If booking less than thirty days before the wedding the entire contract amount is due at the time of signing. Destination weddings require a 50% retainer.

What is your cancellation policy?
Your retainer is non-refundable. The retainer guarantees that we will hold the date exclusively for you and once you’ve signed the contract we turn down all other bookings for that date. We will allow you to transfer the retainer to another date if we are not booked.

Can our family and friends take pictures too?
Of course they can. We do ask that they refrain from taking pictures during the family photographs and your bridal portraits because it restricts the amount of images we can take for you. We will be proactive in making sure we capture your images, but sometimes guests can inadvertently get in the middle of a photograph. We ask that you be aware of this and realize we are not responsible for your guest’s behavior.
