They met while working at the same hotel. Both managers of different departments, and both transplants from South of the Bay Area; Andrea from San Diego and Chris from Arizona. Chris’s parents are retired, but work sometimes at the wineries near their home in the Santa Rosa vineyards. Chris & Andrea visit often and are members of the wine-of-the-month club at Mounts Family Winery. The day we drove up to meet them for their session was warm and mostly sunny.. or partly cloudy depending on the optimism of the meteorologist consulted. The winery was set for tasting, but due to the slow day and an unexpected event they were closing the tasting for the day. They allowed us to stay on the property to photograph Andrea and Chris… we had the vineyards all to ourselves!
They brought their dog, Franklin, who roamed around on his own deciding when and if to join the photos. He was an absolute perfect photo bomber! I especially love the one of the three of them sitting on the blanket with Andrea and Chris cuddling behind Franklin, who you can almost hear groan like a kid would when their parents are canoodling! The quaint little vineyards seem rustic and just the right size. And the changing leaves gave it such a delicious glow and fall feeling you may need a cup of hot cider as you look through them.
Chris planned to propose in Paris on a trip through Europe, but had a minor snafu upon their checkin in Amsterdam. When booking their room with the hotel chain they work for he entered the honeymoon code so there would be champagne in the room on their arrival. Apparently their is more to the code in Amsterdam and they got a welcome basket and a note congratulating them on their marriage! Andrea was worried about how it would look if the hotel thought they were lying, and said that she would have to wear one of her rings on her wedding ring finger. Chris retrieved the ring box from his suitcase and said, “Maybe you should wear this one.”
