“And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.” ~Roald Dahl
James is a Melbourne native. Suzette grew up in Pennsylvania. How did these two paths, that started half a world away, cross each other? Suzette was working and living in New York City, and met James while he was on holiday driving across the country. They met at a Jimmy Eat World concert and knew they wanted to spend every moment they could together, all the while knowing he would be leaving and that they might not ever see each other again. James continued his trip and eventually landed back home, but the girl he met in the States was still very much in his thoughts. So he pursued her.. through email and video chats and finally… he moved to be near her. There was no question they were destined to be together. James had Suzette’s grandmother’s diamond set into a beautiful ring he designed, and popped the big question to a delighted Suzette. Shortly after their engagement they moved back to Melbourne.
Their wedding was held in the hedge-rimmed courtyard at the beautiful and historic Quat Quatta just outside of Melbourne in Ripponlea. In their vows they both used the phrase, “My One and Only”. They promised love, faithfulness and happiness to each other amidst smiles and tears. Suzette’s sparkly gown paled next to the sparkle in her eyes and smile. Every thought was given to making sure their guests from near and far were taken care of. Their love of frozen yogurt was in attendance with a mobile gelati truck that pulled up during the dancing. Guests made their way to the photobooth to leave mementos in a guest book, and raw vegan chocolate treats were passed around to the tables. We could not have been more honored to have been chosen to capture these precious moments. James and Suzette we wish you nothing less than a lifetime filled with the enjoyment of being in the company of your one and only love.
