There’s nothing like blogging at 35,000 feet. We’re on our way to Florida for a wedding today, but we are in love with the images from Katrina and Charlie’s Balboa Island engagement session from last Sunday. They met while working together at Starbucks and when we asked who asked who out Charlie told us they used to hang out together a lot with other friends from work. “We were at the Fourth of July thing.” He said. “Oh ya! There were sparks!”
He carefully planned the proposal at their spot in Laguna Beach on the sand of The Montage. It was at sunset and he had already gotten her dad’s permission. She was caught completely unawares, even when he couldn’t get the ring out of his pocket. She was shocked and asked him if he was serious. There may have even been a light shove. They are getting married this July in Huntington Beach.
For their engagement session we grabbed a tandem bike for them to ride for some fun, “break-the-ice” pictures, and then rode the ferry across for some sweet, intimate shots on a small dock. It got a little chilly as the sun went down, and Charlie was the perfect gentleman sacrificing his jacket for Katrina. We had a blast and could not be happier with these images!
