We have been saving this preview for 2 weeks. We wanted Frank and Carissa to be the first ones to see it, because they have been nothing short of amazing. When we texted them yesterday and told them we were planning to have it up this morning Carissa told us that Frank might not be able to sleep. That’s when you know your clients have put every faith in you to capture their wedding memories. That in itself is humbling and intensely rewarding.
Frank is a planner. From the in depth plan he hatched to overcome his fear of heights and propose to Carissa right before they jumped out of an airplane, to their wonderfully styled engagement session that included a truck full of furniture and a playlist to keep them comfortable during their shoot. Carissa told me once that she doesn’t work out the details of a plan the way Frank does. She kind of just plays it by ear and gets the objective accomplished. On the day of the wedding it felt like their roles had reversed. Carissa was scheduling bridesmaid dress pickups and sticking to the timeline while Frank seemed as cool as a cucumber. Pouring drinks with his groomsmen and hanging out. He kicked it into gear when they realized they didn’t have a dance floor (about 3 hours before the wedding), calling on his best man to find one and get it delivered. And he did!
Their ceremony and reception was at the beautiful Ollis Ranch in Redlands complete with a “Cop Friendly Donut Store” full of delicious crullers, glaze donuts and a plethora of donut holes. Their fall wedding style was full of rich, warm colors. Carissa wrapped cozy shawls on the chairs of the ladies to keep them warm when the night got chilly, and every guest took home a jar of honey. Mason jars full of tea lights lit the open canopy tent where guests could see the stars. During dinner they played a video of their married parents, friends and family answering questions about how to keep the love alive through the years. They were surrounded by love and family, and we could not be more excited to share this peek into their wedding. Thank you Frank and Carissa for allowing us to photograph these memories for you.
