Monica & Steven’s Burbank Engagement Session

When we met Monica and Steven they told us there were 3 things that played a big part in their relationship. Church, their neighborhood, and Disney. Monica’s grandparents still live in the same house her mom grew up in; on the same street as Steven’s house; on the same street that Monica’s dad proposed to her mom. The same street where Monica and Steven first met, and now the street that he proposed to her on. He planned it out perfectly. He picked her up at her house and walked her down the street with a speech he had planned. Talking about all the things that were important to them until they reached the spot they had first met. There he got down on one knee in the middle of the street and asked her to be his wife. But he had more planned. Thinking that they were going inside to tell just his parents the good news Monica was surprised by both their families, including her parents from northern California. She burst into tears and knew that she had met her perfect match.

Knowing that their Church is such a big part of their lives they planned their wedding around the upcoming renovations which were supposed to be completed well before their June date, but someone had other plans. The renovations were delayed, which made them have to pick a new date 6 months sooner! Monica handled it with all the calm collectedness of a cucumber. Reorganizing vendors and working with the church to finalize the date. We spent their engagement session in their neighborhood that holds so many memories of generations of their families, and at a nearby park. Monica and Steven, we are so excited to be a part of your wedding, and cannot thank you enough for choosing us to be your photographers! And Steven, thank you for skipping the USC game to hang out with us for a couple hours.
