This post tells the story of Mikki and Adrian’s wedding day. They met in the third grade, grew up together and have been dating since after high school. Every summer they spend a week at the end of August at the Twin Lakes Campground in Mammoth Lakes, CA with their families. This year was extra special as they invited their loved ones to share one of their favorite places as they promised to love each other today, tomorrow and every day after. The ceremony was at the Forest Chapel in their campground with the wind whispering through the trees and the sound of the woods all around. Mikki’s Jim Hjelm gown was exquisitely well suited for their rustic theme, and her mantilla veil was the perfect accent.
Their reception took place at Parallax, which required a ride in the scenic gondolas halfway up the mountain, but not without a stop at the champagne station. Mikki choose browns, cream and ivory for her colors and included rounds of wood cut from Adrian’s grandfather’s backyard. An Etsy fan, Mikki found a custom wooden puzzle for people to sign instead of a guest book. When completed it makes a giant tree, in homage to their love for the outdoors. Favors included gourmet beef jerky from the store off the side of the road on the way to Mammoth. Since neither of them like cake much they opted for cobblers instead (apple and peach) complete with cutting and feeding to each other. The most important element of their wedding was sharing the beauty of Mammoth and spending time with their friends in family in a place they love so much. Adrian went fishing with his grandpa, dad and brother the day before the wedding, and then the two of them hosted a pre-wedding dinner at a local restaurant the day before. The views and the details are absolutely stunning, but nothing compared to the love these two amazing individuals have for each other.
